WRI340 Critical Reading and Listening
The readings by Hayles, Kassabian and Lefebvre each offer models of attention that are cyclical, environmental, affective, technocultural, etc. Choose one text and reflect on how the focus/locus, structure and temporality of attention are presented. Is such a presentation still “critical” in your view? Why or why not? Your piece may take the form of an analytical, reflective or personal essay; a narrative; an experimental piece that “performs” the theories under examination, etc. Be creative and critical in your approach. I would like to choose either Lefebvre or Hayles readings which can then be tied to any of the other readings of either Marx, Deleuze, Terranova and Crary A detailed description is attached in the file name of A2guidelines.docx The essays that it can be based on are attached.
